Opening Day and Out of Order Party

On what turned out to be a picture perfect day (after an earlier, not-so-great weather forecast), I joined some friends (including Lisa Schatz, Avery Strachan, John Marsh and Alexei Yukna for lunch at Ryleigh's Oyster in Federal Hill. As expected, the bar (and the neighborhood) were full of O's fans, eager for the 3:05pm start. While retrieving an Orange Crush from the bar, I ran into Downtown Diane and handbag designer Danielle DeFerdinando, who were looking festive. Walking over to the ballpark, I joined seatmates Denis Nash, Stacey Swann and Jon Wilkin in our seats in section 26 on the first base side, a few rows back from the on-field action. Three and half hours (and an O's win) later, there was joy in Mudville.

After a quick wardrobe change, it was off across the harbor to the MAP galleries at Power Plant Live for the annual Out of Order party. A great art show and a great party unspooled over the next three hours, before a late-night stop at the Midway Bar around the corner with pal Jim Burger for a nightcap, closing out a fun-packed day.

Spied at MAP: Suzy Prucka, MAP board chair Suzi Cordish, Ashley & Lucky Thompson, photographer  Jim Burger, Claud Vandernotte, Sam Polakoff, H&S Properties’ Chris Janian, The BMA’s Doreen Bolger, photographer Sean Scheidt, board member Morgan Gilligan, gallery owner  Jordan Faye Block, Girls Life mag’s  Jessica D’Argenio Waller, Ruth Shaw’s  Ray Mitchener and Brian Combs, filmmaker John Waters. And snapping for her ‘Glimpsed’ column in The Sun, Sloane Brown and lensman Colby Ware.
