A WINTER STORM WARNING has been issued for the  area starting at 7am Sunday through 3am Monday.  1-3" of snow and sleet is possible starting as snow Sunday morning, becoming sleet and freezing rain and eventually all rain as it comes to an end Sunday night.  Snow and ice-covered roads are possible, especially untreated surfaces.

Gnocchi with a Pesto Cream Sauce Recipe

This potato pasta with a creamy pesto sauce is a great, filling and savory meal for a cool day! Try this dish today for a great dinner recipe.

Ingredients:
Gnocchi pasta

Ingredients for Pesto Cream sauce:
My Essentials Heavy Cream 1/4-1/2 cup
My Essentials Cold whole butter 1Tbsp (more can be added if thicker consistency is desired)
Fresh Parsley or Basil 2Tbsp
Garlic 2 Cloves
My Essentials Salt TT
Food Lion Black Pepper TT
My Essentials Olive oil 1Tbsp
Fresh Chives/Scallions/or Green Onion 1tsp
Tomato small diced for garnish

Method:  
In a blender add the parsley (or basil), garlic, salt, pepper, olive oil, and chives (or scallions/green onion). Blend until in a paste. Set aside.

In a small pot boil water with a little bit of salt. Add Gnocchi pasta. Cool till al dente. (Cook until almost cooked all the way through.)

In a sauce pan, heat up the heavy cream until boiling. Add butter and mix until the butter is melted and sauce is to desired consistency. Add about 2tsp of the Pesto Mixture. Stir till blended.

Add Gnocchi pasta. Serve warm. Garnish with fresh herbs or tomato.
