The Teal Pumpkin Project: A Safer Halloween for Kids with Food Allergies
Halloween can be tricky time for families with kids who have food allergies.
That's why there's a national movement called the Teal Pumpkin Project, in hopes of helping kids with allergies. Approximately two kids in every classroom have food allergies, which is why the Food Allergy Research and Education group started this new tradition.
Households taking part are asked to offer some sort of non-food treat along with the usual Halloween goodies, and then place a teal pumpkin on the porch so parents know the house is giving food-allergy safe treats.
