New 3D printing technology is now at the center of the gun control debate. For the first time, a 3D printer has produced a workable handgun.
After the design for a 3D printable gun was posted online it received over 100,000 downloads made within the first 48 hours of its release.
The US State Department asked the gun designer to remove the plans just days after they were posted, saying it could represent a possible arms trafficking violation. Some believe the government is overstepping its role and violating the rights of citizens.
