'Millennial Moms' Re-Writing the Rules of Engagement

Updated: Friday, January 31 2014, 07:49 PM EST

A survey by the Meredith Parents Network says "Millennial Moms" are re-writing the rules of engagement.

The survey found that 30% of Millennial Moms say they text their partners more than they talk to them. Twenty-one percent of those surveyed say their smartphone or tablet has improved their love lives -- and more than half of those moms say they've exchanged flirty texts.

Sociology professor Dr. Art Jipson says more couples are finding that texting - and even social media - can renew the romance.

"There's a certain mystery to it," Jipson said. "There's 'I'm thinking of you…'"

But the other point, with all the texting instead of talking, is that it's a lot easier to make a mistake. Thirteen percent of the moms surveyed admitted to accidentally sending an inappropriate photo of themselves to someone for whom it wasn't intended.
