Germantown Abortion Clinic Prompts Protests - Joy Lepola

Nearly 200 anti-abortion activists gathered Monday to protest the opening of a Germantown clinic offering late-term abortions.
The protesters expressed outraged that Dr. Leroy Carhart, who is based in Nebraska, will begin performing late-term abortions at Reproductive Health Services clinic.
Carhart has said he wants to ensure more women have access to the procedure by branching out to states where it remains legal. His practice is expanding to the Washington area and Iowa because a new Nebraska law does not allow abortion after 20 weeks of pregnancy.
Carhart worked for 11 years with Dr. George Tiller, a late-term abortion provider who was fatally shot while attending church in Wichita, Kansas, last year.
