A Baltimore man accused in a plot to blow up a military recruitment center in Catonsville will remain behind bars.
A judge ordered 21-year-old Antonio Martinez be detained while awaiting trial on charges that he attempted to blow up the Armed Forces Career Center in Catonsville using a phony bomb supplied by federal agents.
Martinez`s lawyer argued that his client was a victim of entrapment, claiming federal agents induced him to go forward with a plot that he couldn`t have carried out on his own.
But prosecutors say Martinez came up with the bomb plot on his own. Assistant U.S. Attorney Christine Manuelian said Monday that Martinez could be seen on video "grinning from ear to ear" as he armed the phony bomb.
