Updated: Tuesday, January 15 2013, 10:18 PM EST
Experts from around the world gather in Baltimore as they take aim at establishing stricter gun control legislation.

The two day summit kicked off on Monday with Governor Martin O'Malley discussing what needs to be done here in Maryland.

Later this week, O'Malley plans to unveil his legislative package.  Among the measures, the Governor discussed today included fingerprinting on handgun purchases.  Shotgun and rifle purchases would be excluded. O'Malley also talked about a ban on assault rifles and lowering the capacity of magazines from 20 rounds to 10.

O'Malley wrapped up his presentation with the introduction of New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg who looked at possible changes to federal statutes.  Bloomberg would like to see gun trafficking considered a federal crime.

Following the summit, several recommendations will be made in hopes it will be considered by policymakers.  New York City Mayor Bloomberg Urges Federal Gun Control Reforms
