PE Teacher Charged For Sexually Abusing Former Student

Baltimore County Police have arrested and charged a physical education teacher accused of engaging in sexual activity with a previous student.
33-year-old Foye Minton is behind bars at the Baltimore County Detention Center after a former student came forwarded and alleged the two were involved in a sexual relationship for several years.
The female student told investigators she was 16 when the two became involved at Shoshana S. Cardin, where Minton was Dean of Students and Director of Athletics. The victim says Minton was her gym teacher and coach.
Minton once aspired to play professional baseball. Eventually, he turned to a career in teaching.
Neighbors told Crime & Justice reporter Joy Lepola that Minton lost his job at at Shoshana S. Cardin about a year ago. There's is now a notice of foreclosure taped to Minton's door.
The victim said she tried to break off the relationship but Minton kept pursuing her. Police arrested Minton on January 10 at the Day School at Baltimore Hebrew where he is employed. Administrators of the day school said they are cooperating with police.
It's believed Minton and his victim had sexual relations inside Shoshana as well at Minton's home in Baltimore City.
Minton has been charged with second-degree child abuse.
Maryland law prohibits adults in a position of trust, authority or guardianship -- such as teachers, coaches and pastors -- from having a sexual relationship with a minor, regardless of whether the child consents.
