Brooklyn Park Pizza Shop Workers Fend Off Robber - Kathleen Cairns
Updated: Monday, November 19 2012, 09:25 AM EST
An Anne Arundel County pizza shop owner used his tools of the trade to fend off an armed robbery Monday night.
Police were called to the Brooklyn Park Pizza Boli's at 11:20 p.m., where a suspect had brandished a handgun and demanded money from an employee.
But a second employee struck the suspect with a large spatula, causing him to drop the gun. A struggle ensued, and the employees were able to detain the robber until officers arrived.
Police also arrested a second suspect who was acting as a lookout.
Police identified the suspects as 31-year-old Mark Ensinger and 23-year-old Heather Horton.
