First on Fox - 911 Calls Released in Downtown Beating
Updated: Tuesday, November 27 2012, 11:57 AM EST
The 911 calls have been released after a Baltimore man was beaten in broad daylight downtown earlier this month.
911 was saturated with calls as the attacked happened on the corner of Lombard and Howard Streets. "Police right away please. There's a violent fight going on in front of 200 West Lombard Street," said one caller. Another caller can be heard saying, "It looked like somebody was holding him down, I mean they could kill him!"
Witnesses told police at least four, maybe five men attacked 32-year-old John Mason on the street, beating him nearly unconscious. Mason was put in a medically induced coma after three skull fractures caused brain swelling. Family members also said Mason was beaten so bad, a boot print was left on his head.
Weeks later, Mason remains in critical condition at Shock Trauma and his family wants answers. "I want someone to help us find these suspects.. to get them off the street so they cannot do it to anyone else," said Christina Jasi, aunt of the victim.
Police say they still have no motive for the attack but there are multiple security cameras around the intersection where the mid-day attack occurred.
