Alternate Routes for Downtown Commuters During the Grand Prix of Baltimore
Updated: Thursday, August 29 2013, 04:50 PM EDT
The Baltimore City Dept. of Transportation on Thursday advised downtown commuters to avoid certain routes due to Grand Prix blockades and the resulting congestion.
Congestion is expected on Lombard Street and motorists are advised to use alternate routes such as Fayette or Franklin Streets. Traffic is also expected to be heavy on I-395. Russell Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard drivers are encouraged to use Fulton Avenue and Monroe Street as alternates during the afternoon commute.
