Baltimore Grand Prix To Lose Money Again: Promoter Optimistic

The third time will definitely not be charmed for the organizers of annual Baltimore Grand Prix.
Financier J.P. Grant says the race will not be profitable in 2013, the third year the city has staged event.
"We're going to lose some money this year," Grant told Fox45. "In any business, especially in this economy to expect a business start-up to be profitable in two years is unrealistic."
Grant took over the race last year after losses and management lapses prompted the city to cancel management contracts with two other promoters.
Grant says ticket sales are at a pace to match last year, although he says he's anticipating brisk walk-up business.
