Health Care Stakeholders

Updated: Friday, August 2 2013, 09:14 PM EDT
Any way the health care law is sliced, it will cost some people more money. For example, couples earning more than a quarter of a million dollars a year will see their share of Medicare taxes increase in 2013. But, in addition to the millions of people who are uninsured, some people stand to gain.

Brian England employs 18 people at this car repair center. He's always provided his mechanics and clerical staff  with Health Care Insurancem, every penny comes from England's pocket.  As he sees it, the outcome is the same for people as it is for cars  when routine maintenance is ignored.

England pays  about $65,000 a year to cover his employees.  Conservatively, the first  ten thousand goes for for uncompensated health care. In other words, for  people that  show up at an emergency room with neither insurance or the means to pay for medical services. And, that  England says, puts him at competitive disadvantage.

England has been fixing peoples' problems since 1978. He's not enamored with the Health Care law, but like tires, he's kicked the plan enough to covince himself that it will eventually lead to lower costs. To boot, his business will get an annual tax credit of up to $7,500 a year starting in 2014.Health Care Stakeholders
