Updated: Wednesday, January 15 2014, 06:20 PM EST

Back in November the world witnessed the devastation in the Philippines caused by Typhoon Haiyan. The death toll was more than 6,000 and left millions without shelter or food.

It was a disaster that moved 6 year old Matthew Hollenbeck to try to make a difference.

Matthew began collecting coins in handmade jars at his home and school to get food, shelter and clothing to those in the Philippines.

Matthew raised $358 for the victims of the typhoon and the check put the donation over $600.

In today's tough economy FOX45 and First Mariner Bank are reaching out to help your neighbors who Pay It Forward with $250. To nominate one of your neighbors, visit
