Perry Hall Shooting Raising Questions About Social Media Monitoring
Updated: Monday, November 19 2012, 09:25 AM EST
The recent shooting at Perry Hall High School is raising a lot of questions whether administrators should monitor social media sites for signs of trouble.
Hours before the accused gunman opened fire, there was a posting on his Facebook which read, "First day of school...Last day of my life." The suspect, identified as Robert Gladden, lists his employer as the Manson family and talks about murder suicide.
The principal at Perry Hall High School says the growing number of
social media sites make it virtually impossible to track all the
students.
Some school now regularly monitor social media to keep track of troubled students. Many have even hired outside firms to help.
