Inside the Columbia Mall Two Days After Double Fatal Shooting

Updated: Monday, January 27 2014, 03:54 PM EST

The Mall in Columbia re-opened to the general public on Monday at 1 p.m., two days after 19-year-old Darion Marcus Aguilar shot and killed 21-year-old Brianna Benlolo and 25-year-old Tyler Johnson before turning the gun on himself.

A sign at the mall encourages people to lay a flower in the fountain and write a message in memory books in honor of the victims and their families.

"The community's condolences, thoughts and prayers are with the victims' families and everyone affected by this recent tragedy," the sign states. "We invite you to place a flower in the fountain and/or write a message in the memory books as we remember the victims and their families."

Additional memorials were placed outside and inside the mall.

The shootings happened at Zumiez, a store on the mall's upper level. Both the victims were employees and police are still working to find a connection between the victims and shooter.

The Zumiez store was boarded up and closed on Monday.
