Police Presser on Triple Fatal Accident

Updated: Tuesday, September 24 2013, 05:06 PM EDT

One person remains in critical condition Tuesday afternoon after two cars collided during a police chase and killed three. The crash happened shortly after 12:30 a.m. Tuesday at the intersection of York Road and East North Parkway in northern Baltimore.

A witness on the scene told FOX45 he saw the only survivor of the deadly crash stumble from a burning car and collapse. The witness also said he saw officers trying to pull people from the wreckage.

The chase began as officers pursued a Honda. The Honda sped off and was later hit by a Jeep at the intersection. Two inside the Honda were killed and a female passenger in the Jeep also died. The driver of the Jeep is in critical condition.

One witness at the scene was also injured and transported to a local hospital by ambulance.

The crash shut down the intersection for hours Tuesday morning as investigators studied the scene. The cars were towed away approximately nine and a half hours after the crash.
