Annapolis Police Arrest Man for Abducting a 12-Year-Old Girl

Annapolis Police have arrested a suspect who abducted a girl on Saturday evening.
Police responded to Skippers Lane and South Cherry Grove Avenue at 3:09 p.m. where a 12-year-old girl reported the abduction.
The girl told police that a man pulled her into his vehicle, drove away, and attempted to assault her. She was able to escape and run away.
Officers found the unoccupied vehicle in the 1100 block of Belle Drive, near Bywater Road. The vehicle was registered to 52-year-old Cordell Salisbury. The girl did not know Salisbury, who is not a registered sex offender.
Salisbury was arrested shortly after midnight on Sunday in a home in the 100 block of Brightwater Drive.
Salisbury was charged with kidnapping, false imprisonment, second degree assault, fourth degree sex offense, attempted third degree sex offense, sexual solicitation of a minor, indecent exposure, and kidnapping a child under 16.
Salisbury is being held at the Jennifer Road Detention center.
The girl was not injured during the incident.
