Police have charged an inmate at the Howard County Detention Center in a murder for hire scheme on Friday.
Police say that Bernard Perez-Garcia was trying to hire someone to kill his girlfriend's ex-boyfriend and ex-boyfriend's mother. Perez-Garcia was being held at the time on federal immigration violations.
An undercover detective posed as a 'hit man' and met with Perez-Garcia at the jail. The detective was told that the incident should look like a robbery at a store that the victims owned.
The detective was told payment would be received afterwards.
Perez-Garcia faces two counts of solicitation to commit first-degree murder.
