Baltimore's office of Inspector General (OIG) has launched a wide ranging investigation into the city's speed camera program.
Inspector General Robert H. Pearre Jr. told FOX45 that the decision to take a more in-depth look at the error prone program was made after a preliminary probe.
"After doing an initial look I decided we needed to do an A to Z investigation going back to Xerox," Pearre said.
Pearre says he will coordinate his efforts with the council currently investigating the program, chaired by Councilman Jim Kraft.
Earlier this week the council passed legislation out of committee that would strengthen powers to subpoena documents and compel testimony. The measure goes to the full council next week.
