Police Officer Throws Boy With Autism His First-Ever Surprise Birthday Party

For the first time in 12 years one little boy had a birthday party for the first time.
Logan Pearson in a Massachusetts boy with autism so severe he can't speak. His family says throwing a traditional party was never really possible. This year his mom turned to Facebook asking for birthday cards and wishes – and the post went viral.
"I want to CELEBRATE him and ENJOY his day on 2/24/14!" she wrote on Facebook. "So will you go right now and grab a piece of paper and write Happy Birthday Logan- from your FRIEND- in Oregon, Alaska, Hawaii...Etc? I want to make a birthday card book for him. Help us celebrate Logan's birthday! Feel free to share this."
Logan wound up with thousands of messages, buckets of cards, and a big fan at the Cambridge, MA police department.
When officer Steven Bikofsky saw the post, he felt compelled to go one step further than sending a card. Instead, Officer Bikofsky threw a surprise birthday bash complete with gifts, cake and police officers.
Police from 10 different agencies came to celebrate with Logan. The Pearsons say it's the birthday he's been waiting 12 years for.
