Tornado Watch in Effect for Central, Eastern Maryland and DC

A tornado watch is in effect until 5PM on Friday for several Maryland counties as well as Washington, DC and portions of Virginia.
The Maryland counties included in the watch are:
A tornado watch is issued by the National Weather Service when conditions are favorable for the development of tornadoes in and close to the watch area. They normally are issued well in advance of the actual occurrence of severe weather. During the watch, people should review tornado safety rules and be prepared to move a place of safety if threatening weather approaches.
Ready.gov advises citizens to be alert to changing weather conditions and look for the following danger signs:
Dark, often greenish sky
A large, dark, low-lying cloud (particularly if rotating)
Loud roar, similar to a freight train.
