For the third time in three months, Baltimore's mayor will be traveling west costing taxpayers thousands of dollars.
This time, Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake will be traveling to Park City, Utah on July 31 for a leadership meeting. The expense of the trip is $3,500 not including the expenses for her security detail.
The mayor says the trip will benefit the city. "As you can tell from the recent water main breaks we need more help with federal infrastructure money. We'll be talking about that as well as public safety." Rawlings-Blake said.
Just last month, Rawlings-Blake was in Las Vegas for the U.S. Conference of Mayors Convention. The cost: $4,200. In May, the mayor attended the Shopping Center Convention, also in Las Vegas, at a cost of $2,500.
When asked how Baltimore will befit from the trips, the mayor mentioned that Baltimore is the pilot city for the EPA and the city recently received awards to do more work with ensuring women give birth to healthy babies. All other questions were disregarded.
