Mayor Under Fire For Receiving Hundreds of Free Tickets to Events
Updated: Monday, November 19 2012, 09:25 AM EST
Baltimore's mayor has no
problem scoring free tickets to all sorts of event, from concerts to
Ravens games. But now her office is taking the heat for her busy social
schedule.
In documents obtained by Fox45, hundreds of pages show
just how many tickets that mayor's office is using. Most of the seats
are prime seats for major event and even sold out shows.
Records
show she often gives the tickets to colleagues, like city council
members. Sometimes, they go to charities or city schools. The mayor also
takes care of her friends and family, her top aides and other staff
members. However, sometimes the tickets don't go to anyone.
Some
of her critics have raised ethical questions about the ticket giveaways.
The mayor also came under scrutiny months ago about her use of Ravens
tickets too.
For now, the mayor thinks it's a trivial issue.
