Microsoft Introduces Xbox One

Updated: Friday, August 2 2013, 09:23 PM EDT
Microsoft’s Xbox has been the top-selling game console for more than two years with more than 77 million consoles sold. Now, after eight years on the market, it’s getting a refresh.

During an announcement at Microsoft headquarters in Washington, Xbox One was revealed and it offers a lot more than video games.

Xbox One is designed to be an all in one system, the entertainment hub for every living room. The new device interacts with a television and responds to voice and gesture commands.

With a single voice command, you can change channels or switch back and forth between live TV, listening to music, watching a movie or browsing the Internet.

But the company says video gaming is still the head of the console.

The device will have 8 gigabytes of memory, a Blue Ray drive, an updated controller and a new-generation Kinect sensor with better motion and voice detection.

Xbox One is expected to go on sale later this year. No word on how it will cost. Microsoft Introduces Xbox One
