Shooting victim dies more than 20 years later from wound complications
Police announced Friday that a 1996 shooting that occurred in East Baltimore is now listed as a homicide.
On the night of December 27, 1996, police responded to Duncan Street to investigate a report of a shooting.
Crews were able to locate a 20-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to his neck.
As a result of the shooting, the victim became a quadriplegic.
On January 30, 2018, the victim, Damon Carlos Baylor passed away at the age of 41.
Officials say, an autopsy determined that Mr. Baylor died from complications stemming from the 1996 gunshot wound.
