2 charged after Frederick Police recover stolen merchandise & vehicle
FREDERICK, Md. (WBFF) - Police say a stolen car has been recovered and a man and woman are in custody following a theft incident at a Wegmans in Frederick City.
Police responded to the Wegmans on Wormans Mill Rd. near Catoctin Mountain Highway on Monday for a report of a theft. Using a description of the getaway vehicle and its suspect occupants, which were provided by Loss Prevention employees at Wegmans, police were able to locate the car. When police conducted a registration check on the vehicle, they discovered it was listed as being stolen from Gaithersburg.
Police then conducted a felony stop on the vehicle and placed both occupants under arrest. The arrested suspects have been identified as John Morse, the driver, and Kelly Green, the passenger.
Frederick Police recovered stolen goods from Wegmans and also determined that Green had an active warrant through the U.S. Marshals.
52-year-old Morse has been charged with motor vehicle theft, theft less than $1,000 and conspiracy to commit theft. 39-year-old Green has been charged with theft less than $1,000, conspiracy to commit theft and having an open warrant.
