2 staff members injured in attack at Edmondson-Westside High School Monday
BALTIMORE (WBFF) - Two staff members were hurt after being attacked by a group of students and adults at Edmondson-Westside High School after dismissal Monday, confirmed the city school system Wednesday.
Two people in the assault were also arrested, said schools spokesperson Edie House Foster.
Eight people entered the school after dismissal and "physically confronted staff members," she said in a statement. "One of the students had been involved in fighting earlier in the school day. During the after-school confrontation, two staff members were injured and subsequently received medical attention.
"Our thoughts are with them for their speedy recovery," she added in the statement.
Police are investigating to make sure "all participants receive appropriate consequences in accordance with the law and City Schools' code of conduct," she said.
School officials are also "working with the school community to ensure that students and staff experience a safe, secure, and positive climate for teaching and learning every day."
