2 teens charged in connection with shooting during suspected attempted carjacking

BALTIMORE (WBFF) – Two teenagers are charged in connection with a shooting in west Baltimore.

On Monday Baltimore Police identified the suspects as 15-year old Charles Cottman and 14-year old Kevin Vaughan. The teens are charged as adults with attempted murder, assault, robbery, and gun related charges.

The charges stem from what police described as an attempted carjacking on March 11 on W Baltimore Street near N Mount Street, in the Franklin Square neighborhood.

Detectives believe the teens approached a 58-year-old man as he sat in his car and tried to take the vehicle, shooting him in the shoulder when the man resisted.

Cottman and Vaughan are being held at Central Booking.
