Aberdeen police lieutenant accused of tampering with drug evidence
BALTIMORE (WBFF) - An 18-year lieutenant with Aberdeen Police Department has been suspended after allegations of tampering with drug evidence.
The name of the officer was not released.
Aberdeen police said Thursday that the department launched an investigation Wednesday regarding allegations of criminal misconduct, according to a news release.
The officer's police powers were suspended immediately.
Police Chief Henry Trabert has asked Maryland State Police to help with the investigation to follow.
The allegation comes on the heels of a similar accusation against Baltimore police.
