Anne Arundel police crime lab manager gets 6 months in jail for drug theft
ANNAPOLIS, Md. (WBFF0 - The former manager of Anne Arundel County Police department's Crime Lab has been sentenced to six months in jail for stealing drugs from a prescription drop box at a police station.
Annette Box, 49, of Pasadena, received a six-month sentence for misconduct in office and other charges related to stealing drugs from county facilities, according to a news release from Anne Arundel County State's Attorney Wes Adams.
"It is uniquely distressing when a person who is placed in a position of trust, who works in service to our community, abuses their access for personal gain," said Adams in the news release. "Annette Box violated the public's faith in law enforcement, and now finds herself on the other side of the criminal justice system."
Box pleaded guilty to misconduct in office, possessing a drug other than marijuana and scheming to commit theft below $1,000.
