BALTIMORE DELEGATE: Disband the Baltimore Police Department
BALTIMORE (WBFF) - A Maryland lawmaker is proposing something quite radical.
It follows on the heels of a corruption trial that centered around a rogue group of officers who used their police powers to rob people.
Democratic Del. Bilal Ali, who represents Baltimore, wants the Baltimore Police Department disbanded.
He said: “I think we need to put other options on the table… I propose the Police Commissioner and Mayor look at disbanding the police department.”
The Maryland lawmaker points to Camden, N.J., as an example.
In the face of this violence, Camden disbanded its 141-year-old police force.
