Black Restaurant Challenge shines light on black-owned eateries
BALTIMORE (WBFF) - Local African-American restaurant owners and chefs were at the Inner Harbor to kick off the Black Restaurant Challenge.
The challenge stems from one local owner's desire to promote African-American-owned eateries.
It took a couple of years to get going, but, after taking inspiration from the ALS ice bucket challenge, Casey Jenkins decided to issue his own.
To participate this month, Jenkins is asking you to eat at a local African-American-owned restaurant twice a week, then post your experiences using the hashtag "Black Restaurant Challenge."
