Fort Hood soldier from Baltimore drowns in Belton Lake
FORT HOOD, Texas (WBFF) -- Military officials confirm that a Fort Hood soldier from Baltimore has drowned.
According to a Fort Hood spokesperson, 30-year-old Spc. David Folly Ananou was found deceased by Temple law enforcement authorities on April 16 in Belton Lake, in Belton, Texas.
The circumstances of his drowning remain under investigation by the Temple Police Department.
Ananou was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 5th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, since March 2015.
Fort Hood officials say his awards and decorations include the Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korea Defense Service Medal, Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon and Overseas Service Medal.
