Fort Mchenry in Baltimore closed during government shutdown
BALTIMORE, Md. (WBFF) -- After the Senate showdown Friday night, the fourth government shutdown in a quarter-century began at the stroke of midnight.
National Parks, such as Fort McHenry National Monument and Historic Shrine in Baltimore, Maryland, has closed down after not being able to fully staff the facility.
At the gate of the national park, a note read:
"Park Closed...Due to the lapse in federal appropriations, the National Park Service is unable to fully staff the properties under its management, including Fort McHenry NMHS. The park will be closed until the federal government has reopened."
