Forthcoming Baltimore bike share will offer largest electric bike fleet in North America
BALTIMORE (WBFF) – Commuters in Baltimore will soon be able to weave their way to and from work and home with a new mode of transportation. An eco-friendly bike share program is being introduced to the city – and these are no ordinary bicycles. The city will host a program launching this fall that will allow residents to share 200 distinct yellow electric pedal assistance bicycles, or “pedelec” rides designed, installed and maintained by selected vendor, Bewegen Technologies Inc. 300 other bicycles will also be a part of the program.
Caitlin Doolin, with the Department of Public Works, and James Decker, coordinator for the Bike Share program, say this will effectively create the largest electric bike share fleet in North America.
