FRESH IDEA | Salvation Army opens a grocery store in Baltimore
BALTIMORE (WBFF) - A new Salvation Army project is bringing fresh and affordable produce to the north Baltimore area.
Mayor Catherine Pugh and officials from BGE and the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Foundation celebrated the grand opening of DMG Foods on Wednesday.
The grocery store will offer enough fresh food for about 1,200 families and provide at least 15 jobs.
The store, located in the Abel neighborhood, is the Salvation Army's first grocery store.
