Gas leak reported at Lake Ashburton DPW facility in northwest Baltimore
BALTIMORE (WBFF) -- Baltimore Department of Public Works is investigating a gas leak from a chlorine booster station at Lake Ashburton in northwest Baltimore.
The break occurred early Wednesday morning causing several streets in the area to be closed off. Officials say residents may smell chlorine in the area.
DPW spokesman Jeffrey Raymond says crews have located the leak and are repairing it. There is no impact on water safety or quality.
Raymond also says crews are working on a water main break nearby on Longwood Street. Over the past few days, there have been over three dozen breaks in the city and surrounding areas.
