Highs expected to top-out near 90 on Friday
BALTIMORE (WBFF) -- The heat is still on for one more day!
A summery pattern will stay to end the workweek. Expect to give your air-conditioners a workout again on Friday for Black-Eyed Susan Day. Highs will likely top-out near 90 again, perhaps making for our first mini heat wave of the season! Humidity levels, too, will continue to come up a few notches, making it feel progressively more uncomfortable. As a cold front nears Black-Eyed Susan Day on Friday during the afternoon, clouds and sun will give way to a 30% chance of thunderstorms. Any that develop, could contain heavy rain and gusty winds.
For the Preakness Stakes on Saturday, as the cold front passes and sinks into the southern Mid-Atlantic, we'll still throw in a 20% chance of a light shower during the morning, midday, and early afternoon, but it will be much more comfortable as highs only reach about 70 under mostly cloudy skies. Therefore, expect OK weather for the race and your fancy hats and attire, but just have an umbrella along in case!
Sunday, our next storm system will approach from the west, meaning more clouds and highs, even cooler, in the mid-upper 60s with a spot shower possible. Monday, our next system races through, making us mostly cloudy and breezy with showers and thunderstorms and highs near 80, before tranquil and dry mid-upper 70s return by Tuesday of next week.
Next Wednesday, another disturbance moves in with another threat of rain and storms with highs dropping off to 70 to 75, before another bout of clearing and low-mid 70s by next Thursday.
