NATIONAL GUARD MEMBER MISSING| 300 Rescued in Historic Flooding
BALTIMORE (WBFF)-- A man has been reported missing after swift flood waters swept through Ellicott City Sunday night.
Eddison Alexander Hermond, National Guard member and Air Force veteran is missing after he was reportedly swept away while trying to rescue people during the Ellicott City flooding Sunday.
Howard County Executive Allan Kittleman confirmed Monday that the search is on for Hermond.
At an afternoon media briefing, officials said Hermond was at a local restaurant, holding the door against flood waters when a woman asked for help finding her cat.
They said Hermond went outside to help when he went under fast moving water.
Witnesses say Hermond was last seen being swept towards Patapsco River.
Officials report rescuing 300 people during the flooding.
No serious injuries have been reported.
