Iconic Bel-Loc diner closing Sunday after 53 years
PARKVILLE, Md. (WBFF) - After nearly 53 years of serving customers, the iconic Bel-Loc Diner is shutting down. The doors will close at 3 p.m. on Sunday. The property will be converted into a Starbucks coffee shop.
Owner Bill Doxanas says he had finally had enough after being in business for decades. He said: “It’s time to go. Thank you to all my customers."
On Friday, Tom Matte, a former Baltimore Colt, was enjoying lunch with his wife at the diner. He said he used to come to the diner before N.F.L. games. He said: "I hated the pre-game meals, so I would always come over here to Bel-Loc diner and get the best omelet in the world, and Johnny Unitas and I would come here all the time and a whole bunch of players did."
