JHU steps up patrols after wave of armed robberies in the area
BALTIMORE (WBFF) - Over the last couple of weeks, Charles Village has seen a streak of robberies, most of them armed, according to Johns Hopkins University.
The university sent out a memo last week to students and staff reporting an uptick in robberies.
They said six students and four non-students were robbed in late September, most of the robbers armed.
According to Hopkins, it happened in the area just east of North Calvert street.
The university says in the last eight months, they have already upped their campus safety and security staffing by 20 percent. But with the recent string of robberies, they are upping their patrols, too.
Baltimore City Police have not confirmed the incidents at this time.
