'Large water main break' in Baltimore's Mt. Vernon area
BALTIMORE (WBFF) - City officials are warning people to avoid the area of Charles Street near Mt. Royal Avenue and Preston Street.
A 10-inch water main break was reported Wednesday afternoon, causing parts of the road to buckle.
An official told FOX45 it could take several days to fix.
Crews were working to shut off shortly before 5:30 p.m.
The road was seen buckling, with rocks and debris caught in the path of the water.
The water outage is believed to be limited to the 1300 block of North Charles Street, reported the public works department.
The University of Baltimore said its buildings were being evaluated.
Buses were being diverted for the incident.
