Water main break spouts 'geyser' on W Seminary Ave
LUTHERVILLE-TIMONIUM, Md. (WBFF) -- A 12-inch water main under repair produced a geyser-like spout Thursday afternoon, in Lutherville-Timonium.
It happened on West Seminary Avenue near York Road.
The Baltimore Department of Public Works (DPW) confirmed that crews responded to a call at that location on Wednesday for a leak, and said the main was under repair at the time of Thursday's incident.
By 4 p.m. Thursday DPW was in the process of shutting off the water.
According to Baltimore County officials, a broken 6 inch valve was also involved.
Traffic was diverted around the scene and 75 services were affected, DPW said.
