Victim of south Baltimore shooting early Sunday evening identified

BALTIMORE (WBFF) - A 23-year-old man died after being found shot in the chest in south Baltimore's Brooklyn area early Sunday evening, city police reported.

The shooting was reported at about 5:05 p.m. on Clintwood Street, in Brooklyn Homes, near 6th Street.

Officers found the man suffering from gunshot wounds to the chest. He was taken to Shock Trauma, where he died.

Homicide detectives learned the victim, later identified as Andrew Zachary, was walking when he was approached by an unknown suspect.

"Words were exchanged and then shots were fired," said police spokesperson Donny Moses.
