CATONSVILLE, Md. (WBFF) - A 22-year-old man attempted suicide an overpass and was hit by a vehicle at I-695 and I-70 Monday afternoon, said Baltimore County police.

At about 2:30 p.m., police said they started getting calls for a man who jumped off of the Crosby Road overpass onto I-695, said police.

"Witnesses described the man climbing over a fencing barrier and intentionally jumping off of the overpass," according to a news release. "He struck the hood of a vehicle traveling on the outer loop and partially rolled underneath the vehicle, which stopped at the scene."

No one in the vehicle was injured; the man was taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries.

He was listed in serious but stable condition.

Police activity originally closed two lanes on I-695 in the area. Police were leaving by about 3:30 p.m. but heavy delays remained.
