Maryland to give $7.6 million toward Baltimore parks, playgrounds
BALTIMORE (WBFF) - The state's Board of Public Works has agreed to give $7.6 million to park and playground projects in Baltimore City.
They include $2.4 million for the Cahill Fitness and Wellness Center in the Gwynns Falls area, $771,847 for the Druid Hill Reptile House renovation, $750,000 for Gwynns Falls Maintenance Yard renovation and $1.5 million for the city's park system as a whole.
"Creating beautiful, safe outdoor spaces for city residents is critical to improving the quality of life in Baltimore," said Gov. Larry Hogan in a statement Wednesday. "We are proud to provide this funding through the Board of Public Works to make these much-needed improvements at parks and recreation centers throughout the city."
