Mother charged after leaving boy, 4, home alone in Aberdeen
ABERDEEN, Md. (WBFF) - The mother of a 4-year-old boy found wandering in Aberdeen Tuesday has been arrested, reported Aberdeen police.
Kendra R. McMillan was charged after the investigation found she left her son unsupervised at their home on Holly Circle to go to a nearby grocery store, according to a news release.
The child left the home while she was gone.
She is charged with neglect of a minor, child desertion, reckless endangerment, making a false statement to an officer and obstructing and hindering, said police.
The child was found wandering the street, nearly a mile from his home, at about 3:45 p.m., spurring a mass search for his parents.
The boy was not physically hurt and is now in the care of Child Protective Services.
