Motorcycle collision in Ellicott City leaves 1 victim seriously injured in the hospital
ELLICOTT CITY, Md. (WBFF) -- Howard County Police are currently investigating a collision involving a motorcycle in Ellicott City, that resulted in one victim being transported to the hospital with serious injuries.
At approximately 10:00 a.m., a 2007 Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling northbound in the 6100 block of Meadowridge Road, when a 2011 Chevy Silverado traveling southbound turned left in front of the motorcycle.
The operator of the Harley laid his motorcycle down to avoid a collision with the truck, but sustained serious injuries.
The motorcycle operator, Eugene Alfred Shields, 46, of Ellicott City, was flown to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center.
The driver and sole-occupant of the pickup, Loren Douglas McDaniel, 62, of Baltimore, was not injured and remained at the scene.
Meadowridge Road was closed between Old Stockbridge Road and Route 100 for approximately two hours.
The investigation is ongoing.
